ARIANNE BRAITHWAITE LEHN ART SHOP COMING SOON….

I believe everyone has a creator and artist within, as we are made in the image of the greatest and most loving Creator. I hadn’t taken an art class since middle school painting when I took a leap of faith, traveling to Italy during college to study art. I fell in love with oil painting, but set it aside for a number of years in the midst of more school, work, and caregiving. It was during the pandemic when I had three small kids that my husband gifted me my first watercolor set โ€” a medium one can dip in and out of without a lot of mess or supplies. And while the little mess was a perk, I would soon realize the Spirit had some deep meaning and soul-transformation for me in how watercolor cannot be controlled, but flows with a mind of its own. Just the kind of posture I was needing to learn and embrace…

My watercolors are primarily floral and landscape based, often with ink hand lettering. My deepest prayer and desire whenever I pick up my paintbrush, as with my pen, is to be a channel of God’s Spirit, expressing what will bring love and beauty, justice and hope. I regularly share new pieces in my substack, Monday Manna.
